Barbie Getchell received her Master of Arts degree in 1993 from the University of Durham, England, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990 from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is certified in archaeological field research by the Register of Professional Archaeologists (ROPA) and meets the Secretary of the Interior Standards (SIS) for archaeology. Barbie is the President of PAST, Inc., a cultural resource management firm. Barbie has served as a Principal Investigator on numerous projects and has been responsible for the analysis of both prehistoric and historic remains. In addition to Ms. Getchell's work in California and England, Barbie has participated on projects in the state of Nevada and in the country of Belize in Central America. She has given numerous presentations to children and adults, with the goal of increasing knowledge about archaeology and preservation. Aside from her archaeology studies, Barbie’s most important focus is on her two daughters, aged 5 and 2. |
